Cozier and greener city
Helsinki has to plan compact and cozy neighborhoods where nurseries, schools, libraries, stores and all basic services are within a walking distance or alternatively can easily be reached via public transport. Green areas and forests within the city must be conserved and the shores need to be reserved for common recreational use.
Good care - better mental health
Help has to be offered promptly for all who are experiencing mental health problems. In order to promote better mental health sufficient help has to be available early on. More resources are needed for the promotion of mental health. There need to be separate and adequate mental health services for youth.
Room for hanging out and leisure activities
Helsinki needs more non-commercial public space for meeting others, hanging out and for leisure activities. More skateparks, rehearsal rooms for bands, space for free activities, cultural centers, autonomous social centers, walls for graffiti and public notice boards.
Againts discrimination
Gender analysis has to be carried out in all municipal decision making. The city has to take responsibility for the prevention of domestic violence. In order to guarantee sexual and gender minorities equal treatment in municipal services public officials need education in lgbt-issues.
